So what was the best race everyone saw in 2006? For me it was probably the first RoC show at Penn Can, incredible battle between Alan Rudalavage, Brian Weaver, Jeff Strunk, Joey Grammes, Kevin Bates, Danny Johnson, Alan Johnson, and Stewart Friesan. Top 8 cars all finished under a blanket with Weaver coming out on top. Other great races I saw this year, the DIRT Series opener at Hagerstown, Brett Hearn, Billy Decker, and Alan Johnson all duking it out through lap traffic for the win with Hearn winning. The Big Diamond opener, seeing Jeff Strunk pass Duane Howard driving his old ride on the last lap for the win. Bridgeport for the George Wingate Memorial, 4 cars finished, it made it exciting, nobody knew who was going to win, Duane Howard and Jimmy Horton wrecking each other on the front stretch with 4 laps to go and Horton bouncing the car around the track trying to hold off Jimmy Chester the last few laps, before Chester finally passed him on the bottom. Big Diamond, seeing the closest finish in speedway history when Ray Swinehart passed Shawn Fitzpatrick off of turn 4 coming to the checkers. Grandview, an awesome battle between Jeff Strunk and youngster Tommy Sheetz with Strunk finally getting around him with 2 laps to go. The "Win and You're In" special at Weedsport during Super DIRT Week, watching Chad Phelps battle Chuck Bower not only for the win but for the starting spot in the Eckerd 200, with Chad Phelps going on to win the second feature and the starting spot as Justin Haers got around Bower. Last but not least, the 358 Octoberfest 200 lapper, watching Horton, Hearn, and Decker battle it out for the win with Decker pulling it off. It's been a great year! Hopefully we'll get to Bridgeport for the Turkey Chase! Can't wait to start all over again in Atlantic City in January!

Good topic here, first I have 3 sbm features right off the bat from Big D, opening day without a doubt was AWESOME, standing room only and Strunk running Howard down in his former ride was AWESOME, the place went nuts, also I agree with Swinehart beating Fitzpatrick at the line in what might have been the closest finish in the tracks history, also the race at Big D when Howard passed Meme Desantis on the last lap, last turn to the line and took the win by about 2 feet, that was another AWESOME race at Big D, there are a few more from the Diamond I can think of also, Pauch jr first win, the place went nuts and the last ARDC show they had there was INCREDIBLE, cars flipping, lead changes, 4 and 5 wide racing, that night was AWESOME with Mike Miller taking the win, I was also at the G-view show when Sheetz Jr and Strunk went at it, that was probably the best OVERALL race I've seen in years at G-view, also, I believe it was the third race of the year at Lincoln when Rick Lafferty won his first career there on a beautiful spring Saturday afternoon, for a daytime race it was one of the best I've seen in awhile with Lafferty doing everything in his power to hold off Hodnett in the 77, also the place was packed and they went nuts when Lafferty held on for the win, and here's a race that sticks out for me this year, the first NST show at Hagerstown when Jason Solwold won int he R19, not that the race came down to the wire or anything but he held off a very determined Lasoski and not many there thought Solwold would hold for his first win at Hagerstown, that was a great night of racing with the late models on the card also, there's probably a few more I'm missing, I'll check back later when a couple more pop into my head from this past year.

I forgot about Pauch Jr. winning, that was a great race. Howard was all over him and he did a hell of a job holding on for the win!

I believe the best race I saw all year was the Brewerton SDS race. There were so many lead changes it was unreal. For Jimmy to show Alan his move only to have the yellow come out and then for Jimmy to still get by him was incredible. Jimmy Phelps first SDS feature win. The place went nuts. I dont think anyone could believe how awesome of a race that was afterwards.

Well since I didn't get to many races this year again, I don't have many races to chose from. But the one race that really sticks out in my mind was the Rene Downes Memorial at Accord Speedway. Mike and Rich Ricci battled side by side for most of the race with little contact.
